Holiday Hell?

It's begining to look a lot like "Oh, $#!t" every email I open. Stressed humans, frustrated with their dogs. Some doing more than most with all of the enrichment, training, etc. But still the dog is stressed.

I think of these dogs, people, emails, interactions, posts on social media, etc. when I am awake late at night. So I thought, some #free #positivereinforcement #dogtrainingtips could aliviate some of the stress you and your dog may be feeling.

  1. ALWAYS consult your veterinarian FIRST! If there is a health issue,(example being pain, UTI, etc.), all the behavior modification in the world won't help. #cooperativecare

  2. The dog has to feel SAFE! The dog determines what that looks/feels like. No one acts their best self when they are uncomfortable. How can we help our dogs feel safe? Meet your dogs needs.

  3. Manage the enviornment! To ensure their feelings of safety. Cover windows, turn on the radio, use gates, crates, doors, etc. Use enrichment, exercise and compassion to assist.

Thats just the top 3 easy ones that ANYONE can do, if you want more information or specific assistance with your dog and environment,

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! One of my many saying's I've picked up along the years, from my genius mentors/ friends is: "When you know better, you can do better." DO NOT beat yourself up for not knowing! Now you do! Now you can expand your knowledge, while causing a ripple of kindness toward dogs and people! Thats good vibes for your bank <3 we all could use more kindness these days. #kindnessmatters

  1. Learn about dogs! How they learn best (HINT: Positive reinforcement). Learn about dog body language. Learn about THEIR needs, as DOGS.

  2. Dogs are sentient beings. They having feelings and needs. Not to confuse them with humans, they are not. They do not have the ability to do things in spite or to piss you off. There is a need there. They are always communicating, we just need to know how to listen to them. Another article I liked on the subject of meeting emotional needs: https://www.dogdecoder.com/meeting-dogs-emotional-needs/
